REGIONAL
The Midland Academy, authorized by Central Michigan University,
is tuition-free and open to all K-12 students throughout Michigan.
Beginning in January 1997 with 68 students, the Academy has grown
to over 200 students from Midland, Bay, Saginaw, and surrounding
counties.
INNOVATIVE
Higher-level thinking skills and character education are taught in all
subjects, in all grades. Every K-12 student must participate annually
in co-curricular organizations, athletics and community service.
Graduation from the Academy program requires completion of
increased credits, advanced courses, and a graduation thesis. Two
diplomas of higher distinction are offered: the College Preparatory and
the Scholar’s diploma.
AWARD-WINNING
The Midland Academy of Advanced & Creative Studies has received
state awards for its teaching staff, high MEAP scores, and student
accomplishments. It has become a national model for charter public
schools.
